The requirements given herein apply to direct-fired or indirect-fired heaters intended for space-heating or buildings under construction and for spot heating; to flue connected indirect-fired heaters intended for temporary space heating of completed building, when the products of combustion are discharged outdoors.
The requirements given herein may also be applied to such equipment as crop dryers.
A heater which differs from that contemplated by this Standard may be examined and tested according to the intent of the Standard.
A heater which meets each separate requirement of the Standard, will not comply with the Standard as a whole if it has other features which, when examined and tested, were found to impair the intent of the Standard.
