The Standard specifies the apparatus, the reagent and the pr ocedure to be used in conducting the acetic acid salt spray for assessment of the quality of metal coatings made in acco rdance with the requirements of coatings or product specific ations. The method is especially useful for testing decorati ve coatings of copper + nickel + chromium or nickel + chromi um, and it is suitable for testing anodic coatings on alumin ium.
