scope:

This standard deals with the partial or complete demolition or dismantling of structures and technical installations. It also applies to the handling (hauling, storage and loading) of demolished or dismantled building components and equipment and to all demolition materials and components recovered. 

This standard does not cover:

- earthwork (see DIN 18300),

- clearing of vegetation (see DIN 18320). 

DIN 18299, clauses 1 to 5 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, DIN 18459 shall take precedence.
