This standard deals with the workmanship involved in working on external thermal insulation composite systems and rendered external insulation, including the surfaces to which these systems are to be applied.

This standard does not cover

- back-ventilated curtain walling (see DIN 18351). 

DIN 18299, clauses 1 to 5, also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, DIN 18345 shall take precedence.
