Purpose. This standard establishes the component level requirements for in-tank fuel pump module (FPM) assemblies. This standard document shall be used in conjunction with application specific documents based on template CG969 to define fuel pump module requirements for an individual application. These documents complement other requirements included in the Statement of Requirements (SOR).

Applicability. The FPM is intended for use in vehicles sold worldwide. Fuel/mechanization classifications used within this document are defined in 1.2.1 thru 1.2.11. More than one classification may apply to a given application. The term "FPM" may refer to primary or secondary/transfer module. See program document(s) for specific requirements.
