PURPOSE AND SCOPE. This UFC provides design policy and procedures for design of moorings for U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) vessels.

PURPOSE OF CRITERIA. The purpose of this UFC is to ensure quality, consistency, and safety of DOD vessels, mooring hardware, and mooring facilities throughout the world. Other criteria should not be used without specific authorization.
