This Standard does not cover spring hinges.

The door closers covered by this Standard are intended for installation in accordance with NFPA 80, Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives.

The door closers covered by this Standard are intended for installation on interior doors and for interior mounting on exterior doors.

The applicability of data from this Standard to a product in actual use is dependent on test specimens being representative of that product.
