This standard describes the process to develop, implement and close SINs.

Special inspection notices (SINs) document the business process used to instigate one off inspections, investigations or remedial programmes to verify and restore the safety of Network Rail managed infrastructure (NRMI) or equipment. SINs can only be issued if they instigate one off inspections, investigations or remedial programmes to verify and restore the safety of NRMI or equipment.

Purpose

This purpose of this standard is to provide a consistent approach to the development, implementation and closure of special inspection notices (SINs).
