Emission control - Pet cremation facilities

active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 March 2016
Status: active
Page Count: 56
ICS Code (Stationary source emissions): 13.040.40
scope:

This standard provides a detailed description of the state of the art for process and air pollution control technologies used in pet cremation facilities designed for a maximum throughput capacity of 150 kg/h and using fossil fuels (e.g. natural gas) as an energy source. In individual cases, cremation facilities also use electrically powered cremators. The latter variant is not the subject of this standard.

This standard applies to all pet cremation facilities regardless of the distinction between facilities with a throughput capacity of less or greater than 50 kg/h provided for by Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 142/2011. The pet cremation facilities covered by this standard differ from facilities serving a disposal or recovery purpose (e.g. animal carcass disposal facilities; see TierNebG and TierNebV).

It should be noted that this standard should be taken into account in the implementation of new projects in terms of a forward-looking approach.

An inventory and description of the pet cremation facilities currently in operation are not the subject of this standard.

This standard equally addresses owners, operators, engineering contractors and installers, veterinarians and pet undertakers, supervisory and inspection bodies as well as test institutes and authorities.
