It is the purpose of this Code to provide a uniform (standard) procedure for measuring the properties of materials, properties of shunt connections, and operating characteristics, for carbon, carbon-graphite, electrographitic, graphite, and metal-graphite brushes.
This Code covers electric brushes for all types of rotating alternating-current and direct-current motors and generators and similar apparatus.
