scope:
Purpose.
To establish policy for managing the Configuration Management and Life Cycle support of the Submarine Training System Program. The Program consists of the training hardware, software, and technical training materials for the Combat Systems, Weapons, Safety of Ship, Electronics and Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) equipment located at all Submarine Learning Facilities, Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) sites, and Guam.
This instruction applies to the sustaining configuration management and life cycle support of the Submarine Training System Program at all Submarine Learning Facilities, IUSS sites and Guam. This instruction does not apply to training material or trainer systems equipment under the cognizance of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEASYSCOM), Nuclear Power Directorate (SEA 08) or the Strategic Weapon System (SWS) under the cognizance of the Director, Strategic Systems Programs (DIRSSP). NAVSEASYSCOM (SEA 07) will perform Fleet Interactive Display Equipment (FIDE) installations in support of SEA 08 as directed by OPNAVCNO (N87).
