This Standard applies to oil burners of the atomizing-type, irrespective of size, firing rate, or grade* of fuel oil, that are designed primarily for installation in warm-air, hot-water, and steam-heating equipment.
*As classified in CSA Standard B140.0, General Requirements for Oil Burning Equipment.
The requirements given herein do not apply to complete oil-fired units, except where atomizing-type burners form a part of such units.
The requirements given herein may also be applied to atomizing-type oil burners intended for installation in ovens, heaters, ranges, special furnaces, and the like,
The requirements given herein also apply to certain components and accessories for atomizing-type oil burners, such as fuel units and combustion safety controls.
