This Standard specifies a method of test for the slip resistance of protective and occupational footwear used in the work places of manufacturing, construction, transportation, food retailing industries and other industries.

It is not applicable to special purpose footwear containing spikes, metal studs or similar.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 13287 : 2012 Personal protective equipmen - Footwear - Test method for slip resistance (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
