This specification describes bronze check valves of various types for low pressure air, water, and oil services.
Classification. Check valves are of the following types and classes as specified (see 6.1 and 6.2):
Types.
a. Type A - Swing
b. Type B - Lift horizontal
c. Type C - Lift vertical
d. Type D - Lift angle
e. Type E - Tilting disc (top entry)
f. Type F - Tilting disc (in line)
g. Type G - Split disc (wafer type)
h. Type H - Split disc (lug type)
Classes.
a. Class 1 - For working pressure 50 pounds per square inch (lb/in2) max, 14 inches and larger (for types E, F, G, and H).
b. Class 2 - For working pressure 250 lb/in2 max, 2½ to 12 inches (for types A, B, C, D, G, and H).
c. Class 3 - For working pressure 400 lb/in2 max, ¼ to 2 inches (for types A, B, C, and D).
d. Class 4 - For working pressure 400 lb/in2 max, 2½ to 10 inches (for types A, B, C, and D).
