This Standard Practice establishes requirements for cast copper alloy flanges and flanged fittings having dimensions, ratings, and materials not included in ASME B16.24. Specifically, this Standard Practice encompasses the following:
Solder joint flanges, when made of ASTM B62, Copper Alloy UNS No. C83600, ASTM B584, Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C83600, C83800, and C84400, for rating Class 125 and Class 150.
Threaded flanges and blind flanges, when made of ASTM B584, Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C83600, C83800, and C84400 for rating Class 150 and Class 300.
Flanged fittings, when made of ASTM B584, Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C83600, C83800, and C84400 for rating Class 150.
NOTE: With the exception of those products exempted in the Safe Drinking Water Act of the United States, the wetted surfaces of products intended for use in potable water piping systems shall have a weighted average lead (Pb) content less than or equal to 0.25 percent when evaluated in accordance with NSF/ANSI 372. See Table 7, Note (e) for solder related requirements.
