Purpose and Scope

This Engineering Practice is intended as a guide for both the design and construction of subsurface drainage systems, particularly as a resource for developing detailed construction drawings and specifications for a specific drainage project. In addition to this Engineering Practice, subsurface drain construction shall conform to all applicable local, state, or federal regulations. This Engineering Practice is not directly applicable to the design of subsurface drains in irrigated semiarid and arid regions or to the design of mole drainage systems.
