This document describes and defines data elements and classifications used by fire and emergency services to report incidents, including fire, life safety, and response activity data.
This document does not provide guidelines for a reporting system or related forms.
A report completed in accordance with this document is not to be used as a fire or explosion investigation report. If a separate fire or explosion investigation report is not completed, consideration shall be given to including data elements listed in Table A.1.1.3 in the narrative of the incident report.
Purpose.
This document provides a common language for the collection of pre-incident information, fire and other emergency incident data, and post-incident damage assessments.
This standard defines numeric classifications for various data elements that describe fire protection and fire service information.
