CSA C22.2 NO. 61347-2-13:21
Lamp controlgear — Part 2-13: Particular requirements for d.c. or a.c. supplied electronic controlgear for LED modules
Organization: | CSA |
Publication Date: | 1 January 2021 |
Status: | active |
Page Count: | 196 |
ICS Code (Other standards related to lamps): | 29.140.99 |
scope:
This Standard specifies particular safety requirements for electronic controlgear for use on d.c. supplies up to 380 V and a.c. supplies up to 600 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz and at an output frequency that can deviate from the supply frequency, associated with LED modules.
Notes:
1) A lamp controlgear for LED modules may also be referred to as "LED controlgear", "LED driver", "LED power supply", or similar wording associated with "LED".
2) Requirements for self-ballasted LED modules intended for connection using interchangeable dedicated connection interface (IDCI) that do not employ ANSI standard base configurations are specified in Annex DB of CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 62031.
3) A non-electronic lamp controlgear for LED modules is also covered by specific requirements of this Standard. The phrase "electronic lamp controlgear" is understood to also apply to a "non-electronic lamp controlgear".
This Standard applies to the safety of such equipment designed to be installed on branch circuits not exceeding 600 V nominal or less between conductors in accordance with CSA C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, and also for connection to additional isolated power sources such as batteries, generators, solar cells, and fuel cells.
The object of this Part 2 Standard is to specify general electrical safety requirements for LED controlgear. The requirements of this Standard apply to a specific end-use product when it is explicitly referred to by that product standard. Each individual product standard may supplement, modify, or omit a general rule of this Part 2 Standard to provide the relevant requirements for each type of product.
The annexes of CAN/CSA-E61347-1 that are applicable according to this Part 2 Standard and that use the word "lamp" are understood to also apply to LED modules.
Particular requirements for SELV controlgear are given in Annex I.
Plug-in controlgear, being part of the luminaire, are covered as for built-in controlgear by the additional requirements of the luminaire Standard, CSA C22.2 No. 250.0.
