This specification applies to air hoses used in association with pneumatic items of signalling equipment, including points and train stops. This specification shall be used by all those engaged in the design, manufacture and supply of flexible air hose, when undertaking these activities.

Purpose

The purpose of this specification is to define requirements for flexible air hose, to be laid directly onto railway track ballast and crossing under traction current and running rails. The hose shall therefore have a voltage rating of 1000V.
