scope:

This 3-A Sanitary Standard applies to the sanitary aspects of sifters used for processing dry products beginning at, as appropriate, the inlets for products, cleaning solutions, and processing air and terminating at the outlets for product, processing air, cleaning solutions, or rejected material.

To conform to this 3-A Sanitary Standard, sifting equipment shall conform to the following criteria for design, materials of construction, fabrication techniques and installation, as appropriate, and the current revisions or editions of all referenced documents cited herein.
