This document specifies guidelines and requirements for design and documentation of offshore structures.

This document is applicable to all type of offshore structures made of steel with a specified minimum yield strength less or equal to 500 MPa. For steel with higher characteristic yield strength, see Annex A.

This standard also covers others materials, such as aluminium for helideck structures and grout for jacket structures.

Structures made of aluminium is covered by NORSOK N-001:2020 beyond what is covered in Annex F.

Structures made of concrete is covered by NS-EN ISO 19903 [2] in accordance with NORSOK N-001:2020.
