This module of NR/L2/TRK/001 is applied where the track has been disturbed or a deficiency exists, which affects the CRT. This might be as result of:

a) deterioration in the track system;

b) maintenance work, heavy maintenance or refurbishment works;

c) renewals or enhancements work;

d) third party work originating outside of the railway system;

e) invasive investigations to support a), b) or c);

f) temporary works implemented to support a), b), c) or d); or

g) work to, or a deterioration in an adjacent non-track system.

Purpose 

This module of NR/L2/TRK/001 covers: 

a) prevention of track buckles; 

b) maintenance to be undertaken prior to the start of the hot weather period; 

c) calculation of CRT; 

d) mitigation to be taken during hot weather; 

e) mitigation to be taken during exceptionally hot weather; 

f) limitations on work to be undertaken during hot weather; and 

g) reporting of track buckles.
