General definitions of terms are given in NR/L2/SIG/30014/E110
Network Rail shall specify whether suppression of the trainborne commissioning code is to be provided. Where suppression is utilised, a test train shall be operated and the data gathered used to verify that the balise positions and telegrams are correct. Where suppression is not utilised, either train download or the equivalent manual process as described in this specification shall be used to verify that the balise positions and telegrams are correct.
These tests do not require to be completed prior to the commissioning (use by in service trains with operative commissioning codes) except for the following:
• Any balise which is protecting a tilt prohibit zone and its associated Immediate Tilt Stop installation (the two balises immediately preceding a tilt prohibition)
• Any balise which is the last balise before a diverging route onto a non-tilting section of line
The Test Plan shall detail all the new or affected balises, and specify which balises require to be manually tested prior to the commissioning.
