This Standard identifies the quality-related responsibilities and tasks included in the coordination of welding-related activities.

In any manufacturing organization, welding coordination can be undertaken by one or a number of persons.

Welding coordination requirements can be specified by a manufacturer, a contract or an application standard.

NOTE 1 The persons specified in this Standard are equivalent to those speci fied in B.6.3 and C.6.3 of JIS Z 3400.

NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:

ISO 14731: 2006 Welding coordination-Tasks and responsibilities (IDT)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ IEC Guide 21-1.
