This Standard provides quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials in three levels: comprehensive quality requirements (Annex B), standard quality requirements (Annex C) and elementary quality requirements (Annex D), and also criteria to be taken into account for the selection of the appropriate level of quality requirements among these three levels.
It also provides a list of documents with which it is necessary to conform to claim conformity to quality requirements of each level in Annex E.
NOTE 1 This Standard does not specify requirements for a total quality management system (hereafter abbreviated as "QMS"). However, clause 6 identifies QMS elements where their inclusion will complement this Standard.
