The scope of this Part of this Defence Standard is to detail the procedures for the data interchange between the Contractor, the National Codification Bureau (NCB) and the Customer, which ensure that items listed in Initial Provisioning Lists (IPL) are identified by NSN (NATO Stock Number). These procedures do not cover full codification following acceptance of the Master IPL or at other times, as agreed between the Contractor and Customer.
