scope:

This specification covers equipment suitable for the recording of radar display data for the subsequent reconstruction of air traffic conditions existing at the time of recording. Separate raw video channels and triggers will be mixed andgated for recording along with antenna positional information (synchro or incremental azimuth data) timing and voice data. Record monitoring and play-back presentation will be on existing PPI or scan converter displays. Azimuth data will be converted on playback to a form suitable for the display presentation. The recording system will utilize dual video recorders with automatic changeover and control to provide a continuous recording capability.
