- This specification sets forth requirements for a radar beacon performance monitor (RBPM) which will be connected to and operated with an air traffic control radar beacon system (ATCRBS). The RBPM will be composed of two subsystems; an integral system monitor (ISM) and a remote system monitor (RSM). The ISM will be directly connected to the ATCRBS interrogator in order to monitor the interrogator for adherence to the ATCRBS National Standard. The RSM will be located remotely to the transmitter site and simulate returns from an aircraft transponder for range and azimuth accuracy. Test signals as well as local and remote status indications will be generated. Compatible operations with the ATCBI-3 (air traffic control radar beacon system), ATCBI-4, ATCBI-5 and MX8757 digital defruiter equipment is provided.
