This Standard applies to motor-operated vacuum cleaners and floor polishers designed to be used in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, and rated at 600 V and less; except that the scope is limited to a maximum rating of 250 V when a universal type motor is used.

This Standard applies to

(a) cord-connected and permanently connected, household and commercial, wet or dry pick-up vacuum cleaners, including blowers:

(b) cord-connected, household polishers: and

(c) current-carrying hoses for wet or dry pick-up, indoor use, household vacuum-cteaners, both portable and central type.

Notes:

(1) Current-carrying hoses for outdoor use or commercial vacuum cleaners are not included.

(2) Requirements for double-insulated current-carrying hoses are not included.
