scope:
This Defence Standard specifies the metric lock washers for Ministry of Defence use in new metric designs and, wherever practicable, for the maintenance of existing equipment with the exception of:
Aerospace vehicles, or close support equipment for these vehicles.
Applications at temperatures above 300°C.
Note: The lock washers are intended for use only in those applications where the Design Authority considers the use of single and double coil washers to be appropriate.
