This Standard specifies the requirements for the electro-deposition of tin-lead alloy containing 55 to 70% tin by mass and the remainder lead on articles to be soldered.

This Standard does not cover the electro-deposition of tin-lead alloy for the corrosion protection of steels, for plating bearings, for lubrication of wire during drawing, or for coatings applied to sheet, strip or wire in unfabricated form.
