This specification is intended to constrain the development and integration of enclosures for shipboard electronic systems or equipment to achieve survivability of the resulting system or equipment item in the shipboard combat environment. It is intended that the equipment, whether of an existing design or new development, be integrated and tested with the enclosure to achieve this end. This requires that the designer apportion the resistance to stress between the enclosure and the equipment to achieve the required degree of resistance to the anticipated stress environment for the complete assembly.
