This Defence Standard specifies the nuts, plain, cap, to be used, with the exceptions stated below, by the Ministry of Defence in new metric designs, and wherever practicable, for the maintenance of existing equipment.
The nuts, covered by this Standard are not intended for use on aerospace vehicles or their associated close support equipment.
These nuts are intended for use only in those applications where the Design Authority considers the use of cap nuts appropriate.
