Dieser Teil der IEC 61753 enthält die Mindestanforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten bei Inbetriebnahme, an Prüfungen und Messungen und Prüfschärfen, welche ein nicht mit Steckverbindern versehenes OTDRReflektorbauteil für die Überwachung von passiven Punkt-zu-Punkt-(PTP-) oder Punkt-zu-Mehrpunkt- (PTMP-)Lichtwellenleiternetzen (PON) unter Verwendung eines optischen Zeitbereichsreflektometers (OTDR) einhalten muss, damit es als die IEC-Norm, Kategorie C - kontrollierte Umgebung, wie in IEC 61753-1:2007, Anhang A festgelegt, erfüllend eingestuft werden kann.
