The purpose of this guideline is to establish simple criteria for the assessment of sound insulation of doors and movable walls in the interior, to show the constructive influence on the sound insulation, and to give instructions for sound insulation rating and verification to the builders, planners, clients, con-tractors and technical planners.

This guideline deals only with hung doors in terms of DIN 107 and only movable walls, which can be moved horizontally in the ceiling guide rail.

Partition systems into external area require special sound technical advice and are not covered with this guideline.
