This standard:

a. describes the stress risk assessment process;

b. provides line managers with guidance to identify signs and symptoms of stress in employees;

c. provide guidance to line managers on how to manage an individual experiencing stress in the workplace;

d. describes how to complete stress risk assessments and manage records of completed assessments.

NOTE 1: This standard is based on work related stress, and does not address the implications of personal stress.

NOTE 2: Contractors will have arrangements in place which are equivalent to those specified in this standard.

Purpose

This standard is designed to:

a. provide an effective and consistent process for how Network Rail manages the risk of stress in the workplace; and

b. control and manage the risk of stress in the workplace to protect the health and wellbeing of employees.
