Overview

When planning work, tasks which expose individuals to vibration are to be identified by conducting a risk assessment. Input should be sought from specialists, operators and suppliers as deemed necessary by the planner. Consideration to whether the risk from vibration exposure can be eliminated or reduced e.g. are there alternative processes, better equipment and/or better working methods which would eliminate the risk.

The SWL or COSS shall include details of any hazards relating to working with vibrating tools and the associated control measures required in their on-site briefings.
