This module applies to Network Rail Network Operations, Infrastructure Projects and Route Services only, as it is expected that, Network Rail's suppliers will have their own systems in place for health surveillance (Regulation 7), and the provision of information, instruction and training (Regulation 8) for work under their control.

Purpose

The implementation of this module contributes to the compliance with legislative requirements (LOLER, PUWER, HASAW) and to mitigate the occupational health risks:

a) exposure of staff to hand-arm vibration (HAV);

b) whole body vibration

c) working at height;

d) exposure to airborne particles and associated hazards;

e) staff fatigue; and

f) hearing loss.
