"This standard specifies requirements and test methods for non-percolating layflat delivery hoses for firefighting purposes and which, when empty, can be folded or rolled flat. It should be noted that water is the testing medium used to test performance requirements in compliance with this standard. If other testing media are used, the properties of the hose can change.

The standard applies to layflat delivery hoses intended for use at a minimum ambient temperature of -25 °C and a working pressure of 1,6 MPa (16 bar) for D 25 to B 75 hoses, or 1,2 MPa (12 bar) for A 102 to F 152 hoses.

NOTE 1 Additional requirements for high pressure hoses and anti-static hoses are given in Clause 7.

NOTE 2 All pressures are gauge pressures and are expressed in megapascals. 1 MPa = 10 bar."
