Within the general scope defined in Section I, American National Standard B30.9 applies to slings made from alloy steel chain, synthetic webbing, wire rope, metal mesh, and natural or synthetic fiber rope used in conjunction with equipment described in other volumes of the B30 standard. Slings made from materials other than those detailed in this standard shall be used only in accordance with recommendations of the sling manufacturer.
