Foreword
This final draft European Telecommunication Standard (ETS) has been produced by the Network Aspects (NA) Technical Committee of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), and is now submitted for the Public Enquiry phase of the ETSI standards approval procedure.
This ETS consists of 2 parts as follows:
Part 1: "B-ISDN asynchronous transfer mode functional characteristics [ITU-T Recommendation I.150 (1995)]";
Part 2: "B-ISDN ATM layer specification [ITU-T Recommendation I.361 (1995)]".
NOTE: With respect to edition 1 of ETS 300 298-1 and ETS 300 298-2, this draft ETS provides a new specification of the preassigned combination of the routeing field in the cell header, specifies how a cell with a reserved Virtual Channel Identifier (VCI) value is conveyed between the end points of the Virtual Path Connection (VPC) and specifies the Generic Flow Control (GFC) protocol procedures across the interface at SB and TB reference points.
