scope:

This draft European Telecommunication Standard (ETS) has been produced by the Network Aspects (NA) Technical Committee of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). and is now submitted for the Public Enquiry phase of the ETSI standards approval procedure.

This ETS consists of 2 parts as follows:

Part 1: "Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network (B-ISDN); Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM); B-ISDN ATM functional characteristics [ITU-T Recommendation I.150 (1995)]";

Part 2: B-ISDN ATM layer specification [ITU-T Recommendation I.361 (1995)]".

NOTE: With respect to edition 1 of ETS 300 298-1 and ETS 300 298-2, this ETS provides a new specification of the preassigned combination of the routing field in the cell header, specifies how a cell with a reserved Virtual Channel Identifier (VCI) value is conveyed between the end points of the Virtual Path Connection (VPC) and specifies the Generic Flow Control (GFC) protocol procedures across the interface at S_B and T_B reference points.
