Purpose
a. To establish the Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Program, and to implement and authorize the Chief of Naval Operations policy and procedural guidance of this instruction, via reference (a).
b. Major changes to this draft include moving specific policy guidelines for the NATOPS Program to reference (a). This is a complete revision and must be reviewed in its entirety
Applicability. NATOPS Program policy applies to all U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps personnel who operate or support the flight operations of both manned and unmanned naval aircraft. It also applies to civilian, contractor and other-Service personnel who operate naval aircraft, or provide or utilize naval aviation services and resources, including NATOPS products
