scope:
The Associate Intermodal Pallet (hereafter called AIP) will be used in conjunction with the standard 463L Cargo Nets, Pallets and associated material handling equipment. Troops requiring cargo transport will load/band cargo on the AIP. The AIP will be delivered to the aerial port. Then the AIP will be loaded and "netted" on the 463L Pallet for transport throughout the military airlift system which includes cargo loaders, forklifts, and conveyor systems. The cargo aircraft include the C-130, C-5, and C-17.
intended Use:
The Associated Intermodal Pallet (AIP) is intended for use in handling cargo in and around warehouses, loading platforms, and docks; on paved or other hard surfaces
