Organization: ISO
Publication Date: 21 April 2017
Status: active
Page Count: 29
ICS Code (Plastics in general): 83.080.01
scope:

This standard specifies a method, based on a global energy balance approach, for the determination of the interlaminar fracture energy, GA, of flexible laminates from the peel strength and other measurements. The interlaminar fracture energy is a measure of the peel resistance of the bonded assembly, which is typically found to be independent of the peel angle and the geometrical and physical properties of the adherends. The procedure is intended for use with flexible laminates for packaging applications.

NOTE This standard is an extension to the existing adhesive peel testing standards, ISO 11339 and ISO 8510, which indicate how the peel strength of flexible-to-flexible and flexible-to-rigid bonded assemblies can be determined.
