Hose and hose assemblies covered by this specification are intended for use in hydraulic equipment systems at temperatures ranging from -40°F to 200°F (-40°C to 93.3°C). Hoses, type 100R are designed for ground vehicles, hydraulic test stands, and ground support equipment. They are not intended for aircraft use. These hose assemblies are used in vehicle hydraulic systems requiring interoperability and compatibility with military associated components, in combat and or harsh environments.

Military uniqueness. The interoperability and compatibility is assured through an assembly code number found on each slash sheet. This assembly code number was designed by Army Tank Command (Army-AT). This document also requires more severe low temperature bend testing. Which uses preconditioning and a 10lb. (4.5 kg) weight, at the -40°F (-40°C) temperature.
