Organization: ISO
Publication Date: 6 October 2017
Status: active
Page Count: 30
ICS Code (Drainage systems): 91.140.80
ICS Code (Plastics pipes): 23.040.20
scope:

This document specifies the definitions, general requirements and performance characteristics for single wall corrugated piping systems used in the field of non-pressure underground drainage, made of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).

Products complying with this standard are intended to be used in applications where the tightness of the system is not relevant, such as collection of water from agricultural drainage, land drainage, water control around buildings, highway drainage, culvert drainage and surface water applications.

NOTE 1 Surface water application is understood as conveying surface water from collecting surface to sewer with smooth inside wall.

Products complying with this standard are not intended for the transport of any kind of effluents and neither for sewer applications in general (foul water/wastewater).

This document also gives guidance for the structural design of single wall corrugated pipe systems.

For most applications, single-wall corrugated pipes have perforations to allow the infiltration or exfiltration of water.

In conjunction with ISO/FDIS 19469-3, this document covers a range of pipe and fitting sizes, materials, pipe constructions, nominal ring stiffnesses, perforations and gives recommendations concerning colours.

It is applicable to polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) single wall corrugated pipes and fittings, to their joints and to joints with components of other plastics and non-plastics materials.

NOTE 2 It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes.

NOTE 3 For dimensions larger than DN/ID 1500, this standard may serve as general guideline.
