scope:
This document specifies the definitions and requirements for single wall corrugated piping systems used in the field of non-pressure underground drainage, made out of polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP)
NOTE 1 Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) is not covered by this document because this material is not known to be used in such applications.
Products complying with this standard are intended to be used in deep burial applications where the tightness of the system is not relevant, such as collection of water from mine leachate and transversing an embankment with a culvert.
Products complying with this standard are not intended for the transport of any kind of effluents and neither for sewer applications in general (foul water / wastewater).
In conjunction with ISO/FDIS 19469-1, this document covers a range of pipe and fitting sizes, materials, pipe constructions, nominal ring stiffnesses and perforations. It is applicable to PE and PP single wall corrugated pipes and fittings, to their joints and to joints with components of other plastics and nonplastic materials.
NOTE 2 It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes.
This document covers pipes and fittings sizes up to DN 1500.
NOTE 3 For dimensions larger than DN 1500, this standard may serve as general guideline.
