active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 March 2017
Status: active
Page Count: 6
ICS Code (Forging equipment. Presses. Shears): 25.120.10
ICS Code (Modular units and other devices): 25.060.10
scope:

The content of this standard has been tailored to the automotive industry's special requirements for large stamping and forming dies and is intended to serve as a supplement to DIN 9833 and ISO 9182-3.

The die designs are based on DIN 9833 and ISO 9182-3. In the larger diameters they do, however, differ in four important respects:

a) The guide pillars have a longer lead-in chamfer.

b) Only a few of the standard lengths (L1) in DIN 9833 and ISO 9182-3 have been selected (see Table A1 in the Annex). In case of diameter d1 = 80 mm, length L1 = 450 mm has been increased.

c) Diameters (d1) are limited to the range of diameters extending from 80 mm to 160 mm.

d) Diameter d1 = 100 mm should be available in a solid or a hollow version, depending on requirements.
