All other products within the remit of the Professional Head of are within the scope of this guidance note.

The product introduction process covers all aspects of the product lifecycle.

The process applies from the commencement of projects concerning the specification, procurement or modification of products.

This guidance note might also represent good practice for the introduction of other product types.

Purpose

The purpose of this guidance note is to:

a) provide best practice for capturing and delivering the required function and purpose of plant products;

b) indicate where to find the relevant standards, controls and processes required for compliant and effective introduction of plant products; and

c) provide reference to additional information sources that might support the development of further best practice
